In 2019, Mirjam founded the "'stichting oren en ogen tekort'', where they make the cultural world accessible to people with auditory and visual impairment or as well as having trained Sensory City Guides throughout the Netherlands to make the city a unique experience.

In 2022 she started Equal recruitment where recruitment is done by blind and visually impaired recruiters, among others and whose goal is to help all companies create an inclusive workplace where everyone is inspired and happy.
