Swapfiets
Swapfiets is the world’s first ‘bicycle as a service’ company.
Founded in 2014 in the Netherlands by 3 students, the scale-up quickly developed being one of the leading micro mobility providers in Europe with a total of over 250.000 members in in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, France, Italy, Spain, Austria and the UK.
The concept of Swapfiets is quite simple: For a monthly subscription fee, Swapfiets members receive a fully functional bicycle or e-mobility solution for their own use. If needed, a repair service is available within 48 hours to repair or directly swap the two-wheeler at no additional cost.
Swapfiets’ bikes are designed in the Netherlands and produced in our own factories.
Our service is available since the end of 2020 in France, the repairs and maintenance of our bikes are made in-house in our warehouses and in our stores.
In 2021 we rolled out our service in Paris and we opened new stores in Lyon, Strasbourg, Toulouse and Nantes.
In 2020, we had 500 members and at the end of 2021, we counted already 3.500 members! We expect to have more than 10.000 by the end of 2022.
