Covid-19 has changed a lot. It affects many aspects of our society, one of which is cross border employment. But what exactly has changed in the way employers send out staff to work abroad? And what are the consequences?

Juan Peña-Núñez (Business Development Director HEALIX)

Impact assessment of the Covid-19 outbreak on international medical assistance provision.
Multilingual, with 23 years of hands on operational experience in a variety of high profile, front line global medical assistance, risk mitigation and intelligence roles. A well-travelled and respected industry professional, specialising in advising and supporting cross sector international clients, especially those operating in developing, hostile, remote and austere environments. During his career, Juan has managed and overseen numerous high profile, large scale global incident response cases, relating tonatural disasters, acts of terrorism, war, insurrection, pandemic outbreaks and many urgent life or death air evacuations.

 

Mira Pathak (Senior Manager Client Solutions EMEA AIRINC)

Where is Global mobility goingafter Covid, most important trends, changes and threads/ opportunities?
Mira is of German-Indian origin and has been with AIRINC since 2018. She looks after the German-speaking market while also working closely with the rest of the European teams across the whole EMEA region.
During her German university time, she spent a year living and working in Paris. Straight after university, she moved to the UK where she worked for 15 years before moving back to Germany in 2019. At AIRINC, her varied role includes dealing with anything that involves new business opportunities, projects for existing clients, as well as marketing and events.
Mira has worked in global mobility since 2006 and prior to joining AIRINC, she was at ECA International for nine years, where she was London-based but also worked in an EMEA-wide role. In between leaving ECA in 2015 and joining AIRINC in 2018, Mira had her own business for three years focusing on a different kind of mobility: corporate yoga for employee health and wellbeing
 

Remko Jellema (Tax Director TAXPERIENCE)

Tax and social security consequences crossborder employment during and after COVID-19.
Remko is a tax director of Taxperience since 2018.
Before Taxperience he was working for 18 years within Deloitte. He is a specialist in (cross border) employment tax and social security and related aspects of international mobility.He advises companies on all Dutch wage tax and social security legislation, international mobility and tax optimal remuneration packages and takes care of all aspects of international assignments, including payroll processing and expat tax compliance. He has experience in the tax effective structuring of employment throughout the world and the Dutch/international tax consequences of such structures.
